A Crockpot Classic

You can never go wrong with a good crockpot meal. It’s one of those meals that brings you back to a time in your childhood. In my mind, I recall coming into the house on a cool fall evening after being busy outside doing chores or playing with my sisters and the smell the roast that had been cooking in the crockpot all day fills the entire house. I think of sitting down at the table with rosy cheeks ready to dig into my meal.

One of my all time favorite meals is shredded roast beef sandwiches. It’s one of those meals I use for brandings, working cows, or get togethers! It’s so simple and so delicious. Here’s my recipe!

Recipe
3lb roast- I prefer Chuck Roast, but any roast will do!
1 cup beef broth
2 cups water
Seasoned Salt
Pepper
Garlic Powder
Onion Powder

Directions
Place roast and seasonings, broth, and water in crockpot. Turn on low and let cook for 6-8 hours. After cooking on low all day, pull the roast out and shred with two forks. Put shredded roast back into crockpot on warm until time to serve! I usually serve on a fresh, homemade bun with a side of potatoes and a vegetable of some sort!

This is my go to meal for any large group setting whether it’s a fun get together or we are working cows, shredded roast beef sandwiches are always a hit!
